Red Scare vs. the Crucible

Communism is a form of socialism that abolishes private ownership. In 1957 Arthur Miller wrote a play called The crucible which takes place in the Puritan town of capital of Oregon with the suspicions of witchcraft in the belatedly 1600s based on the widespread reverence of communism during the personnel casualty Sc atomic number 18. In twain cases, at that place was little evidence that prove these mess guilty. They were taken and confined based on what peck thought they had seen or heard. Although both incidents occurred almost 260 years apart, they are directly associated because of the similarities in volume, causes and effects. In the Crucible, two young girls make accusations of witchcraft which lead to one hundred eighty state accused and jailed with little evidence brought close to against them. During the Red Scare, Senator Joseph McCarthy made accusations against 205 people saying that they were communists (Breen). At that time, people were Blacklisted and also jailed for organism considered a communist. To be blacklisted means to be put on a list of people or products viewed with suspicion or disapproval (Free Dictionary), which means naught would hire you for work. Blacklisting was kind of analogous what was going on in The Crucible because if you were accused of doing witchcraft, your story in the town of Salem was ruined. Arthur Millers ripening of fear in the Crucible is the same as the fear during the Red Scare. Abigail accused Tituba doing witchcraft and just because she was afraid of macrocosm hanged, she pled guilty. Being accused of world a witch in Salem, Massachusetts was alarming because charge if one was innocent, they are notwithstanding held guilty. So really, instead of the good being Innocent until proved guilty it was more censurable until proven innocent. If you want to bring down a good essay, order it on our website: OrderCustomPaper.com
